  1. I completed a project for states reports for 5th graders. It is a comprehensive unit that uses all three Intel Essential tools. It also is accompanied by a written report, oral presentation, and drawing a map and flag. I hope you get a chance to check it out and use it!!

  2. Brief Summary: In this unit we will be discovering many different aspects of skiing (snowboarding) as it applies to mathematics. We will create a scatter plot based on the price of skiing at various ski resorts. We will decide if weight and height are factors of skiing. We will research how many people ski now versus past years. We will discuss how weather, etc. affect skiing. We will discuss ski slopes utilizing the linear function (y = mx + b). We will explore ski resort income and how to enjoy skiing off-season. We will correlate the enjoyment of skiing a particular slope with the cost of traveling to and the cost of skiing that particular slope. (Perhaps skiing a less desirable slope more often would produce more enjoyment).

    Three interactive thinking tools:
    1) Visual Ranking Project Name: Favorite Ski Slope

2)Seeing Reason Project Name: Awesome Ski Day

    3) Showing Evidence Project Name: Snowboarding vs. Skiing

  3. My project will incorporate reading and reading skills. Students will be asked to identify fact and opinions from a reading passage and take a stand on the issues presented in the reading passage.
The tools will be used as an assessment to the reading passage. My students will need a lot of modeling with the tools and will gradually have to do the tools on there own adding all of the components.

  4. My project was about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how they affect your body and the consequences.

All three tools will help with collaboration and communication. This is very important for group counseling.

  5. By using a variety of scaffolded and differentiated strategies for both vocabulary and reading comprehension, students will identify which strategies are most effective for them personally in connecting with and understanding text, will practice a variety of strategies, will be assessed and complete a team project to demonstrate for others their understanding.
Students will demonstrate understanding of reading vocabulary and comprehension through communicating with technology using voice threads and show appropriate levels of learning goals that demonstrate relevant meaning for themselves and others
